Cove

Connect an assistant

Use Cove from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini: your projects, reminders, journal and calendar, in conversation.

Last updated 25 October 2026.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Cove in ChatGPT's apps directory, or add it in Settings with the address https://cove.lifeplainly.com/mcp.
  2. Select Connect. Cove opens its consent page.
  3. Untick any permission you do not want to grant, then sign in with Google.
  4. Back in ChatGPT, ask for something, for example to list today's reminders.

Claude

  1. Open Claude and find Cove in the connectors directory, or add it as a custom connector with its address.
  2. Select Connect. Cove opens its consent page.
  3. Untick any permission you do not want to grant, then sign in with Google.
  4. In a conversation, ask Claude to use Cove.

Claude Code users can add Cove with claude mcp add --transport http cove https://cove.lifeplainly.com/mcp.

Gemini

  1. On a computer, open gemini.google.com in a normal browser tab, not the installed Gemini app window, which cannot finish the sign-in.
  2. Go to Settings, then Connected Apps. Under Custom apps, select Add a custom app and enter https://cove.lifeplainly.com/mcp.
  3. Select Next. Cove opens its consent page. It names the app “Google” and sends you back to oauth-redirect.googleusercontent.com: that is Gemini.
  4. Untick any permission you do not want to grant, then sign in with Google.
  5. In a chat, type @ and choose Cove. Once added, it also works in the Gemini app on your phone.

Google offers custom apps only in English, to people 18 or over in the US who use a personal Google Account (not work or school) with Keep Activity on. If the sign-in stalls, turn off ad and tracker blocking for gemini.google.com (Shields, in Brave) and try again.

Permissions

Cove's consent page lists each permission separately. Assistants usually ask for every permission, and each one requested starts ticked; untick any you do not want to grant (for journal, calendar or Profile, untick both read and write to keep that area private).

  • Work, read: projects, tickets and reminders.
  • Work, write: create and update them.
  • Journal, read and write: your private journal entries.
  • Calendar, read and write: your linked Google Calendars, read live. Assistants can never invite people, send updates or answer invitations.
  • Profile, read and write: what you keep in Cove's Profile. An assistant can use it only after you also approve that assistant on the Profile page.

You can revoke an assistant's access from your account page at any time.

Things to ask

  • What is on my plate today?
  • Remind me every Monday at 9 to review my budget.
  • Add a ticket to the Studio website project: fix the contact form on mobile.
  • Find the journal entry where I wrote about the Japan trip.
  • Move my dentist appointment on Thursday to 4pm.

If something goes wrong

Disconnect and connect again, and check the permissions you ticked. The support page has more help.
