Cove

Cove philosophies

The six principles Cove is built and run by.

  1. Built to last, not to sell your data.

Many free apps pay their way by selling your attention or your data, and some simply disappear. Cove is built to do neither.

Cove is free for now. It earns your trust by never showing ads or selling what you keep in it, and it is built to last, so your records have a home for years.

  2. A safe home for your data.

Your projects, reminders and journal deserve a place that feels cohesive and fluid, and that simply works.

Every change is saved carefully so nothing is silently lost, and your records are backed up privately every day.

  3. Updates without disruption.

Some apps change their interface so often that you spend more time relearning them than using them. Cove changes deliberately.

Improvements arrive quietly, and the things you rely on stay where you left them.

  4. Engineering done properly.

I have worked in software engineering for a decade. Cove is built the way I would want any service I depend on to be built.

That means automated tests, code review, security checks and careful releases, and none of them are skipped to ship faster.

  5. Native on Mac and iPhone.

Cove's apps for Mac and iPhone are native apps, built for each platform rather than a website in a wrapper.

That will always be the case, and each app gets full effort to ensure its quality.

  6. Privacy, respected.

I want the services I use to respect my privacy, so Cove respects yours.

There are no ads, no tracking scripts and no selling of your data. Your journal is yours alone.
